Your Drumming Guide
Nick Deraiche, drummer & teacher
Obsessed with drumming since the sixth grade (still obsessed 33 years later) Nick moved to Toronto to study at Humber College, majoring in jazz performance. He then spent the better part of a decade drumming aboard cruise ships, playing dozens of different shows every contract. Nick is now the drummer and teacher behind Lakeshore West Drum Lessons. He’s developed a system that gets complete beginners playing along to songs by the end of their very first lesson, and helps experienced drummers unlock techniques and musical concepts they didn’t know they were missing.
Every student is different. Nick tailors each lesson to your musical tastes, your skill level, and your goals. You’ll learn fundamental techniques, listening skills, new musical styles, and quality practice routines. If you want he’ll teach you to read drum notation and interpret drum charts, plus build the song-learning skills so you can teach yourself new songs on your own.
The Approach
You’ll play real music, by your favourite bands, and have a great time doing it, and walk out of every lesson better than you walked in.
